Two children recently lost their father, their mother has not been in the picture for years.  The children’s aunt and uncle have temporary custody of the children. The death of the children’s father was a shock to everyone. The kids are devastated and miss their dad dearly. The nominator said of the family “because during this time when they are dealing with their grief, loss of their dad/brother, 180 degree change in their lives, a little lift of the spirit can lighten up this dark time for them. The custodians are doing such a selfless act of love, trying to gain full custody of these two kids, I can’t imagine the stress they must also be facing.”
