Mothers Day Special Recipient May 2017

The Mother’s Day recipient is Katharine, who was nominated by a friend. Katharine recently moved to Alberta to be near family…and enjoy the grandchildren…to watch them grow. She loves being a mother. Not long after her arrival she was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the diagnosis, and current treatments, Katharine has the biggest smile, and never complains. Family is so important to her. Katharine has a long road ahead with treatments; this experience has put their lives on hold. There are increases financially – for gasoline and parking everyday – as they seek medical treatment. The nominator stated “Katharine and her husband must be getting tired BUT show no signs of giving up. They need a lift-up for their spirits. They could use a bit of joy.”
